ABOUT OUR SCHOOL
New Chapter became a sponsored academy on 01 January 2013. It is part of the Milton Keynes Educational Trust (MKET); currently there are 4 schools within the Trust – Walton High (secondary), Hersongate (primary 2013) New Chapter (primary 2013) and Kents Hill (infant 2014).
New Chapter is slightly larger than most primary schools with 285 children.
The building has two storeys and is situated in large grounds. There is an extensive playing field, an adventure playground and two all-weather playgrounds.
There are currently 12 classes from Reception to Year 6. In most year groups there are 2 classes of 25. However, due to falling birth rates, we currently have 1 EYFS class and year three and four are taught in three mixed year group classes. Generous staffing means classes are smaller than in most other primary schools.
There is also a well-stocked library, sports hall, dining room, medical room and an administration area. There are toilet facilities on each floor and two disabled toilets.
School Community Code: Learning, Love and Laughter
New Chapter staff provide a warm, happy and stimulating environment that promotes an enjoyment of learning.
Children are able to appreciate the importance of acquiring knowledge and skills and how relevant these are to their lives.
Our goal is to assist all children to reach their full potential both as learners and as members of our school family. Everyone at the school is made aware of the three key elements of life here – we refer to these as the ‘three Ls’.
